The Northern Irish manager left the Hoops in the middle of the season to become the new manager of Leicester City.

In the wake of the event, the former Hoops boss was the subject of some chants from a section of the fans.

Footage has surfaced in which a section of the fans was spotted chanting about the 46-year-old in a pub. (h/t Sport Bible)

“I hope you die in your sleep, Brendan Rodgers, hope you die in your sleep I pray, hope you die, hope you die, Brendan Rodgers, from a bullet from the IRA.”

Moreover, in the game against Hearts at Tynecastle last night, some Hoops fans laid out a banner reading (h/t Sport Bible)

“You traded immortality for mediocrity. Never a Celt.  Always a fraud.”

Lennon takes over from Rodgers

Neil Lennon was brought in place of Rodgers as the new interim manager. Eventually, he led the Hoops to grab a 2-1 against the hosts with the help of Odsonne Edouard’s goal in injury time.

The former Celtic captain later expressed his joy over his team’s performance post the win.

Rodgers has signed a deal with the Premier League side that keeps him until 2022. He has previously managed Swansea and Liverpool in England.

Since joining Celtic, Rodgers has led the Hoops to back to back trebles and has won all domestic seven trophies.
