Celtic signing this rising U-20 English starlet would get them a perfect player for a key position

Celtic FC opinion: Should the Hoops sign Max Lowe?

According to a report from The SunCeltic have joined the race with Old Firm rivals Ranger for the signing of Derby County’s Max Lowe.

With Kieran Tierney’s future hanging in balance after Arsenal’s lucrative offer,  the Hoops have started to search for replacements and Lowe is the latest name on their wishlist.

The Daily Mail also states that they have looked Boli Mbombo of Rapid Wien and Iranian full-back Milad Mohammadi.

Lowe has spent back-to-back loan spells with the Scottish outfit Aberdeen and garnered a 5-goal tally in the previous season. The 22-year-old broke into the Rams’ first-team in 2012 and has been deprived of chances since then.

He also had a loan spell with Shrewsbury town prior to his Scotland move. He is currently participating for the Three Lions in the U-20s side in the Toulon tournament.

Should the Hoops consider a move for Lowe?

The Celts will struggle without Tierney, who has been outstanding for them over a long time. The 22-year-old is on the cusp of becoming one of the best full-backs of his generation and a move to Europe’s elite like Arsenal would further enhance his success in the future.

Lowe can be a great addition to Neil Lennon’s side and the English U-20 international would have the chance to reinstate his form at Celtic Park. Though his stats and credibility look underwhelming, Lennon can bring the best out of  Lowe, who is also eager for more playing time.

In addition to that, he has now become more familiar with Scottish football’s playing style after two seasons with the Dons.
