Manchester United’s David de Gea will start at the goal ahead of the Spanish skipper Iker Casillas.

Defenders: Gasper Perez, Nacho Fernandez, San Jose and Cesar Azplicueta

Spain also have problems in defence, with Sergio Ramos, Dani Carvajal, Inigo Martinez and Bruno Soriano forced out injured. It is likely that the Barcelona duo of Gerard Pique and Marc Bartra might be rested and in their place Real Madrid’s versatile defender Nacho and Athletic Bilbao’s San Jose are expected to make the cut as the two central defenders.

Atletico right-back Juan Fran will play as the right-back while Chelsea’s in-form Cesar Azplicueta will start as the left-back. It won’ be a surprise if Del Bosque decides to hand Villareal’s Gasper Perez a chance ahead of Juan Fran.

Midfielders: Thiago Alcantara, Santi Cazorla and Isco

In midfield, star midfielder Andres Iniesta is sidelined with a hamstring injury while David Silva is also out due to respective injurie. A test will be conducted on David Silva before the match and his presence in the playing XI will be decided on that result. However, Silva used to feature in the front three for La Roja Furia. In their absence, Bayern Munich’s Thiago Alcantara and Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla will feature in the XI with Real Madrid’s youngster Isco getting the nod after he was benched in the last match. Spanish record assist provider Cesc Fabregas might start from the bench.

Forwards: Pedro Rodriguez, Paco Alcacer and Juan Mata

Juan Mata

If Silva is fit, he will be in the XI and in case of his absence, Manchester United star Juan Mata will be in action in the frontline supported by Chelsea’s new signing Pedro and Valencia’s Paco Alcacer after Juventus’ Alvaro Morata was injured in the side’s last match.
