According to a report coming from The Independent, it is now being suggested that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has decided against signing Manchester United’s Victor Valdes. The Portuguese boss was keen on adding yet another top keeper to his current squad and the former Barcelona man was an option for him due to the absence of his first-choice Thibaut Courtois.

However, now the Blues’ boss will not look to bring the 33-year-old superstar to Stamford Bridge. Courtois hurt his knee during a training session and could possibly be out for two to four months, with the Belgian media outlets suggesting that he could be out till January.
With just Asmir Begovic available to the west London side, the club is eligible to make an emergency loan signing if they need to, yet Mourinho has faith in youngster Jamal Blackman to be the backup goalie. It just keeps getting worse for Valdes, who will be on the sidelines at Old Trafford, as Dutch boss Louis van Gaal will not include him in his first-team plans anytime soon.
