Chelsea: Forget Torres And Have A Look At These Three Striker Targets For January

Three strikers Chelsea must sign this January Transfer Window

Yet another dive, yet another false claim by both the manager, yet another refereeing error meant Chelsea stave defeat a second consecutive defeat to West Brom  on Saturday. While problems are evident all over the pitch, the Blues’ striking options are seriously limited with Torres, Eto’o and Ba have hardly been in the best of forms as the team have been lacking goals. Jose Mourinho looks to add to his attacking options this upcoming January Transfer Window to enhance his side’s Championship winning credentials.

So here are the Three strikers Chelsea must sign this January Transfer Window:

Robert Lewandowski:

The name is enough isn’t it? With unbelievable pace, brilliant at link up play, mesmerizing and outrageous striking ability, the Pole would suit any team in the Premier League. Who would ever forget his decimation of Real Madrid single handedly in the first leg of the semi final in last season’s Champions League at the westfalenstadion. As Talksport says, “Equipped with an impressive skillset for scoring goals, he would undoubtedly improve Mourinho’s options in attack.”

Diego Costa:

Athletico Madrid numero uno strike force this campaign, the temperamental Diego Costa is centre of attraction in La Liga. Costa’s name has been mentioned in the rumour mill and the striker has been linked to several clubs recently. With his brilliant striking ability, adding to his enormous pace Costa could be a vital tool for Chelsea in the final third where goals have been hard to come.

Coasta has a brilliant right foot and surely has filled in the void which popped up when Falcao left Atlético. However, will Atlético sell is the question, who knows ? Any player in such form would hardly resist to chance to play in the Premier League.

Max Mayer:

Not a striker, but certainly a wonder talent, Max Mayer might just be the solution to Mourinho’s linking up problems up front. According to the Metro, “Chelsea have lodged a £12million bid for Schalke play-maker Max Meyer ahead of the January transfer window.”

The Blues are always on the lookout for exciting young players, and highly rated Meyer has caught the eye of scouts in recent months. Even though Mayer has a £15million release clause, Mayer will be worth every penny. He is fast, is very tricky and has the pace to burn. Chelsea according to the same report from Metro, have now firmed up that interest with a bid, as they look to bag the player before the transfer window opens. Schalke have a history of developing superb young players, and Meyer is thought to be one of the best to roll off their production line in recent years.
