Everton have been dealt with a blow upon Chelsea’s refusal to loan out Victor Moses who previously served under new Everton manager Roberto Martinez.

Moses who joined the Blues last season from Wigan had a decent outing with the Blues in his first season, scoring 10 goals in 43 appearances. Martinez had wanted the player on a season long loan to boost his midfield, but Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho reportedly does not consider loaning out as an option.

Chelsea are ready to sell the player though permanently and would want £8m for him, an amount Everton are unlikely to dish out.

The likes of André Schürrle and Marco Van Ginkel brought in this summer, has left question marks in Victor Moses’ future as the fight for the starting line-up is expected to be fierce and having not laid a strong foundation in his first season, Moses will further fall down the pecking order. It is expected that the 22-year old Nigerian would get limited opportunities as contrary to the previous year and thus would be open to a move out. Amid all these uncertainties concerning his future, a lot of Premier League clubs are keeping a keen eye on him and waiting with their bids.

In other news, Chelsea fans can now breathe easy as reports have emerged that Branislav Ivanović is going nowhere after he has been assured by Mourinho that he still remains a vital member of the squad. The Chelsea star has been a transfer target for Barcelona throughout the summer and the Serbian international has also been said to show some interests in the offers.

But after returning from the pre-season training he had a talk with the manager who then assured him of his role in the side. The 29 year old player stated “We had our first meeting with Mourinho. He looks very impressive and that’s pleasing.  With him Chelsea will act as a team, but we will also improve individually. Mourinho is very important for the club and for the fans.”

A source close to the player mentioned that he would be eager to finish his playing career at the London side

“All being well, Branislav would like to be a Chelsea player for the remainder of his playing days at the highest level.  He is definitely staying at Chelsea. He loves Mourinho’s style and is keen to play for the new coach.  He has been told that he does have a future at the club and, while there was the possibility of him going to Barcelona, he is happier staying in London.”
