Chelsea Latest Including Mourinho

After the dramatic exit from the Champions league, all that is left with Real Madrid’s season is the situation of Jose Mourinho. Will the Portuguese manager make the inevitable move to Chelsea? or will he surprise everyone by staying back at Spain? There are quite few twists and turns that lie ahead of us this summer.

Jose Mourinho under pressure at Madrid
Will Jose move back to Chelsea?

But let’s start with Mourinho contract situation at Real. Jose’s contract with Madrid lasts until July 2016 and everyone knows he’s going at the end of the season. But it’s not that simple. At Christmas Jose and his ‘friend’, club President, Florentino Perez inserted a clause in the contract that if Mourinho was sacked before the end of his deal the club would have to pay him 10 million euros. If he left, then Mourinho (or his new club) would have to pay the club the same amount.

Mourinho wants to be sacked, Madrid want him to go. Who’s going to blink first? José says he will talk to his ‘friend’ Florentino at the end of the season to see who pays whom. Madrid’s point of view is simple – if Mourinho has been negotiating with clubs and has got pre-agreements, why do they have to pay anything? Perhaps it is them, they should receive money for the Portuguese? This is one of the situations delaying matters.

Mourinho has negotiated with two clubs this season, PSG and Chelsea. Will he re-kindle the flames of passion with past amour, Chelsea? Well he might, but, how about if the team doesn’t make it into next season’s Champions League. He’s also not overly impressed with the fact that Chelsea has been ‘unfaithful’ to him, first by lusting over Pep Guardiola and then by whispering into Manuel Pellegrini’s ear. And Abramovich thought about it twice before embracing his old friend. The main stumbling block? The authority Mourinho wants at the club.

PSG have shown this season that they also want him, which didn’t exactly endear them to their present manager, Carlo Ancelotti, who, when he felt he was being cuckolded as far as last November, retaliated by meeting with Madrid twice in Paris and now he also has a pre-agreement in place with the Spanish club despite the fact that his contract has been extended by a further year to June 2014 by virtue of PSG’s assured top three finish in La Ligue. There is a pay off to be negotiated with PSG then when the season is over.

According to the reliable Onda Cero Radio, it appears that PSG are too in negotiations with Rafael Benitez, which if true, would tie things up very neatly and also mean that the French club has finally lost patience with the ‘Special One’ and his flirting of Chelsea.
