Christiansen to make 1 change – Strongest 4-4-2 Leeds United lineup to face Cardiff

Predicted Leeds United Lineup To Face Cardiff City In EFL Championship

Leeds United were comprehensively outplayed in their 0-0 draw at Hull City in midweek and will look for a major upturn in form against fellow promotion hopefuls Cardiff City at the weekend.

Although the opportunity exists with this XI to play a 4-2-3-1 with Roofe on the left and Hernandez in the middle, each in positions they belong in, I feel that Roofe will once again be paired with Lasogga up front against Neil Warnock’s men.

Kalvin Phillips may come back into the side, possibly at the expense of Ronaldo Vieira, while Laurens De Bock is likely to continue at the back in a 4-4-2 formation:

Probable Leeds United XI

GK – Felix Wiedwald

The German stopper has seen off Lonergan now and continues as first choice ‘keeper.

RB – Vurnon Anita

Liam Cooper is suspended for 4 games and with Shaughnessy out injured as well, Anita could well start here at right-back.

CB – Gaetano Berardi

The versatile Swiss should play as a centre-half here and I am sure he’d do a solid enough job.

CB – Pontus Jansson

One of the league’s top defenders, Jansson will surely want to play Premier League football very soon. So should Leeds fail to go up again, he may well look for a move.

LB – Laurens De Bock

Left-backs are hard to come by and Leeds are one of a number of clubs who played the first half of the season without a specialist in this position. So it’s good to see De Bock in this role.

RW – Egzijan Alioski

Looks like he’s up for another purple patch on the right-hand side and remains a big danger to the opposition on the wing.

CM – Adam Forshaw

The new signing from Middlesbrough has gone straight into the side and is likely to carry on in this one.

CM – Ronaldo Vieira

With Phillips out suspended Vieira should continue in central midfield, alongside Forshaw.

Kemar Roofe

LW – Pablo Hernandez

Would surely be better off in the middle, though this XI could easily be reshuffled to accommodate that.

SS – Kemar Roofe

I’m not convinced that this is his best role but those at the club appear sure he can partner Lasogga up front.

ST – Pierre Michel Lasogga

The German striker is well capable on his day and enjoys having someone playing with him up front.
