City Will Be Back After The International Break – Mancini

A late, late Aguero goal settled the title for Manchester City last year and the Premier league champions, are yet to show signs of successfully defending their title this season. Roberto Mancini’s men have struggled to get the maximum points from the 6 games they have played, with 3 wins and 3 draws City currently lie on 4th place behind rivals United.

Though it is not a bad start for any Premier league team, Mancini believes that city are yet to show their full abilities and claimed that his team are steadily improving as the season goes on and will once again be on top after the international break later this month. All said, City are yet to lose a game and that will be a major difference at the of the season as title rivals United and Arsenal have already started to slip up.

The defending champions faced Fulham on Saturday and came out with 3 points but not before a real scare from the home side who took the lead early in the 10th minute thanks to a goal from Petric from the penalty spot. Two late goals from Aguero and Dzeko in both the halves saved the day for the citizens. With the win, City climbed up to fourth place level on points with arch rivals Manchester United but four behind leaders Chelsea.

Speaking after the match, Mancini said:

“I was worried because we continued to play well and had chances, I think that we were very close to the same we played last year. The problem we had was we didn’t have all the players in pre-season. Twelve players started their pre-season 10 days before the championship began, which is difficult. I think, in my opinion, maybe after the international break we will be OK.”

In other News it is rumored that Roberto Mancini is an admirer of United’s target Robert Lewandowski but the Italian has accepted that he wont go for the striker as he already has four of the top strikers around Europe.
