Father of teenager, Lofti Mejbri has confirmed that his son Hannibal Mejbri has had a trial with the Gunners. The midfield prodigy has already signed a deal with sponsors Adidas and also attracting interest from the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United.
Though an official deal cannot be signed until the age of 16, for any club, Arsene Wenger’s team look to be in the front of the queue to sign the French wonder-kid having offered him a trial.
The 13-year-old sensation is already tipped to follow Thierry Henry and Louis Saha’s footsteps as he too is blooming at the Clairefontaine academy in France, the same academy that the two legends graduated from.
Mejbri draws comparisons to David Luiz of Chelsea because of his frizzy looks and it looks like Arsenal may be in for another youngster to add to their growing midfield. He currently plays for Paris FC but has caught the eye of the Arsenal look-outs.
However his father is keen on keeping everything real and insists nothing has been agreed upon, “Arsenal is the only club where Hannibal had a trial, but we didn’t sign anything.” said Lofti Mejbri “We’re free, and we will be until he finishes his time at Clairefontaine.”
Lofti Mejbri also added that his son would be continuing his training, but should also get his priorities right, which meant studies above anything else, “The priority is his studies. It is more likely he becomes a doctor or lawyer than a pro footballer.”
