Confirmed Rangers line-up vs SK Rapid Wien: Gerrard picks a strong team

Steven Gerrard will be hoping for a positive performance from his Rangers side when they come up against SK Rapid Wien in the Europa League. The former Liverpool captain’s side were only able to pick up a draw against Villareal in the last fixture and a win in this one would do them a world of good.

The Gers are also on the back of a league loss against Livingston and need to make amends before the start of the international break. Gerrard’s men are definitely capable of causing an upset after showing glimpses of their quality.

The Rangers just need to maintain consistency in their performances and that should help them see out games. Rapid Wien are currently on top of the table after beating Spartak Moscow in the last fixture.

This is the third time Rangers are coming up against the Austrian outfit, with the Scottish side winning both of the previous games. The Gers have won four of their five competitive European fixtures against Austrian opposition.

The club are also yet to lose a European game under Steven Gerrard and the Liverpool legend will be aiming to pick up his first win in this match. Rapid Wien have won just three of their last 19 away Europa League games so Gerrard will be confident of a win.

It will be interesting to see how this game turns out.
