A Dream Liverpool Lineup With Isco In The Mix

Jurgen Klopp should have some serious plans for his side next season. The victory at the Vicarage Road has taken them closer to a place in the Champions League and Klopp would be looking to attract some serious talents this summer. One player who has constantly been linked with a move to Anfield is Real Madrid midfielder Isco.

The Spanish star is one of the most exciting players in his position in Europe at the moment but is finding it hard to cement a place in the first team at the Bernabeu. Reports from Spanish news outfit Don Balon claim that Klopp is looking at the Real Madrid man as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho, who is attracting interest from all around Europe. The Brazilian star is wanted at the Bernabeu and Camp Nou, and Klopp is convinced that Isco can replace the Brazilian magician this summer. So how would Liverpool lineup with Isco in their team in place of Coutinho?

The Reds have settled well into a 4-3-3 formation and though Klopp was comfortable with a 4-2-3-1 in his time at the Signal Iduna Park, it looks like he has changed his ways. The likes of Henderson and Can are sure to get extra competition for the position of the deepest lying midfielder while Adam Lallana and Georginio Wijnaldum will play a floating role.

Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are doing wonderfully well and there is no reason as to why they would be replaced. However, Firmino might be pushed into one of the roles on the wing, making way for a new attacker who could play the number 9 role to perfection.

The Real Madrid star will slot into one of the two positions in the three-man midfield ahead of the central defensive midfielder. Klopp might settle with Adam Lallana and Isco as his midfield combination, keeping two of the nimblest feet in charge of the transition from defence to attack.

Wijnaldum, even after a decent season, might only find a place on the bench. Liverpool do need a stronger defence but they would do well with a player who can unlock the opposition that sit deep and defend. There are very few options better than Isco in the current transfer market.

Coutinho will be a huge blow but unlike when they sold Luis Suarez, if Liverpool can actually spend the money and lure Isco to Anfield, they are sure to challenge for the title next season. Do you think Isco can fill Coutinho’s boots in the current Liverpool squad?

Here is how they could lineup:
