Crystal Palace opinion: Should the Eagles make Batshuayi’s deal permanent?
Crystal Palace need reinforcements next summer. Their season hasn’t been the best and it will only get worse if the club does not make any new additions. The fact that one addition in January changed the course of their season shows just how much they need new additions.
But it cannot be just one player in just one area. One look at their teamsheet shows exactly that. The Eagles need new goalkeepers, a new centre-back, a new left-back, a new midfielder and a new striker. It’s gonna be an interesting summer for the Eagles and it’s one that they need to pay attention to.
That is if they want to survive next season. The Premier League is a tough league to survive in and as Fulham have proved, spending millions doesn’t always work unless it’s the right players. That’s been their biggest issue, with the Eagles opting to add the wrong players.
Alexander Sorloth has failed to make any impact, so have Cheikhou Kouyate and Vicente Guaita. However, the Eagles’ main issue has been up-front, with their strikers failing to net barely any goals this season.
Between Sorloth (who the club sent out on loan in January), Christian Benteke, Connor Wickham and Jordan Ayew, Crystal Palace have scored two goals.
Jeffrey Schlupp, who has spent a large part of the season as a wing-back has netted more.
Patrick Van Aanholt and James McArthur have three goals and it shows just why the club needs to make the move for Michy Batshuayi permanent. English news outlet the Standard has reported that Crystal Palace are looking to make the move permanent.
Since the Belgian’s arrival in January, he’s netted more goals than any Crystal Palace striker. That means Batshuayi has five goals in 11 appearances, with his arrival injecting hope into the club and changing their fortunes.
His arrival changed the course of everything for the club and it’s one of the many reasons why they should keep him. Add that to his presence in the box, clinical nature in front of goal and work-ethic, it will only help the Eagles move further in the Premier League.
Palace need to push themselves from the realms of a relegation-threatened side to a flourishing mid-table side.

Somehow, if Crystal Palace ever get Chelsea to agree on a decent fee for Michy Batshuayi, it’s a move they have to make by hook or crook. The Belgian can give them much more than what any player at the club can, and that alone should make a big difference.
