Manchester United skipper Wayne Rooney managed to steal a point from his side’s trip to the BET 365 last weekend as he managed to break Sir Bobby Charlton’s record for the number of goals for the Red Devils in their Premier League history. This draw extends United’s unbeaten run to 9 games in the league but they will now have to turn their attention to the League Cup semi-final against Hull City at the KCOM this week.

The Tigers fell to a 2-0 defeat in the first leg at Old Trafford and they will hope to put in a stronger fight at home in the second leg. Manchester United, with a 2 goal advantage, are expected to set up a final against Liverpool or Southampton but Marco Silva’s side are sure to put on a fight which might trouble the Red Devils.

Here is the predicted lineup that Mourinho might field for this game:

Team News:

The manager has no new injury issues to worry about as Marcos Rojo, who missed the game at Stoke with an illness, is also expected to be back in action. Eric Bailly, however, remains unavailable as he is busy with national duty at the AFCON.

Expected lineup (4-2-3-1):

David de Gea:

The Spaniard is one of the best players in his position in the league at the moment and is a regular starter for United in crunch games.

Antonio Valencia:

The first choice full-back for Mourinho, Valencia, is integral to the plans at the club and he will hope to have a decent night away from home.

Phil Jones:

The English defender has established himself in the first team at Old Trafford with some impressive performances and should keep his place in the side for this game.

Marcos Rojo:

The Argentine defender missed the last game through illness but he is back in training and is expected to partner Jones at the back.

Matteo Darmian:

With Daley Blind and Luke Shaw not the first choice options for Mourinho for this game, Matteo Darmian will get another chance to prove himself at the club this week.

Ander Herrera:

The Spanish midfielder has been the lynchpin in the midfield for Manchester United this season and is an automatic starter for Mourinho in games like these.

Michael Carrick:

The veteran defender has made a huge difference to the squad, getting the best out of players around him and he should get a chance to start this game against Hull.

Jesse Lingard:

The English winger has not been as effective in the recent outings as he would have wanted and will hope to have a productive game against Hull.

Paul Pogba:

The French sensation has been less than impressive in the last few games for United but he is a star player and is expected to start this game at the KCOM.

Anthony Martial:

The young striker has been effective on the wing in the recent outings for Mourinho and he should stick with him for this League Cup semi-final.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic:

After a rather sedate performance against Stoke at the weekend, Zlatan will be pumped up and ready to go for this game against the Tigers.
