David De Gea Could Move To Real Madrid If They Activate This Clause – Report

De gea

There is an interesting story to David De Gea’s contract extension that he signed in September 2015. The 26-year-old goalkeeper has a clause that allows him to join Real Madrid in the next two years at a price of £43 million.

The Manchester United shot-stopper joined Old Trafford in 2011 at £17.8 million, a British record fee for a goalkeeper and since then has been a key member of the squad helping them win the Premier League in the 2012-2013 season as well as the FA Cup in 2016. Widely regarded as one of the best keepers in the world, De Gea’s switch to the Bernabeu could come as a massive blow to the Manchester club.

The Spanish giants have made De Gea their number one target and are already preparing a move to shock the football world with another record transfer fee for a keeper. However, it is unlikely that Jose Mourinho would be willing to let go of such a prized asset and will do just about anything to keep the Los Blancos away from the star keeper.

Real Madrid failed to sign the Spaniard last season but will be able to have another go this summer and Zidane will be looking to take advantage of the contract. If the De Gea deal doesn’t go through, Madrid will look to sign Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois.

Courtois has openly discussed his desire to return to the Spanish League, but the Blues are desperate to tie down Courtois with another contract, however reports claim the Belgian has not yet signed on his extension despite it being an increase in his salary.
