Dele Alli To Start: Predicted 4-2-3-1 Tottenham Line Up To Face Liverpool

Tottenham have had a mixed start to the campaign. They began the 2016-2017 season with an away 1-1 draw at Everton, following which they won last weekend’s home game against Crystal Palace. Pochettino is under some pressure to bring in a few players before the transfer window slams shut. Although he has already bought two very quality players in the form of Wanyama and Vincent Janssen. They will now take on Liverpool at the White Hart Lane in an early afternoon kick-off on Saturday. The Reds come into this match on the back of a 2-0 defeat against newly promoted Burnley.

There are a few injury concerns for Pochettino to deal with but fortunately for him, he has enough back-up in the squad. Expectations will be high from the Argentine’s team after an excellent third place finish last season. Here is the predicted Tottenham starting XI for the match against Liverpool.

Goalkeeper: Michel Vorm

With Hugo Lloris unavailable due to an injury, Vorm is expected to continue between the sticks for some more time. He didn’t have a lot to deal with against Crystal Palace but he stayed alert all the time. One thing he must work on is his distribution.

Defenders: Kyle Walker, Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld and Danny Rose

One of the most consistent players in the Tottenham squad, Kyle Walker will again be expected to start on right side of the defensive line. He didn’t venture forward much against Crystal Palace but defensively his performance was top class. The center back pairing of Jan Vertonghen and Alderweireld was excellent in the last match. Easily, one of the best centre-back pairing in the Premier Leauge. Danny Rose was also brilliant against Palace and he is expected to keep his place in the left side of the defence.

Midfielders: Eric Dier, Victor Wanyama, Eriksen, Dele Alli and Lamela

While Wanyama has quickly settled into the Tottenham team, Dier has struggled somewhat to form an understanding with the former Southampton Player. They will look to improve on that against the Liverpool side. Janssen could shift to the bench for this one, in place of him, Alli will come into the starting XI and occupy the number 10 role. Alli will be flanked by Eriksen on the left wing and Lamela on the right wing. The Argentine began the season with a bang, however, he looked a little flat against Palace.

Striker: Harry Kane

One can say that Kane has been unlucky not to have a goal to his name by now. He was back to his hard-working best in the last match but he missed a couple of clear-cut chances. He will try his best to open his goal-scoring account against the Klopp’s men.
