Despite Juventus interest, staying at Man United is the best decision for this £65m English star – opinion

Why Marcus Rashford should stay at Man United amidst Juve interest

According to the Sun, young England and Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is a Juventus target in the future. The Italian giants are casting admiring glances at the 20-year-old, who scored in his nation’s 3-2 win over Spain during the recent international break. He is valued at around £65m if any club is interested in buying him.

The forward even played a crucial part in United’s eventful 2-2 draw at Chelsea. However, in general, he has struggled to really cement his place under Jose Mourinho.

As per the report, Juve chiefs reckon the 20-year-old has what it takes to cut it at the highest level and become a great player. They are now ready to press the bid button to bring him to Turin in the near future.

Rashford is contracted with Manchester United until 2020, with an option to increase that stay by a year. Hence, the club will strongly resist any attempts from the foreign club to prise the youngster away from Old Trafford. From the player’s perspective though, he should also stay in England. Here’s why:

Rashford’s chance to be a star at United

It’s true that young English players should also look for moves abroad, which would improve their experience of playing in several conditions.

Taking Jadon Sancho as an example, the teenager couldn’t find his place at Manchester City, hence, he moved to Borussia Dortmund and now he is firing for the German club. As a result, he was selected for the England squad earlier this month.

Rashford is already an England regular now and has scored more goals for his country than club. This explains the irregularity with which Mourinho is picking him. The forward is still a young player and will improve with more game time.

Moving to Juventus wouldn’t be ideal for him, partly because of the position in which he plays. The Old Lady already have Paulo Dybala, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mario Mandzukic and others in their ranks and they are all forwards. Therefore, it will be very difficult for the 20-year-old to break into the first-team at the Italian capital.

It would be better for him to stay and fight for his regular spot at Old Trafford, score goals and increase his confidence. Rashford should know that he can become a Manchester United legend if he stays there and works hard to get better week after week.
