Do Manchester United Need To Sign This Real Madrid Star Now That They Have Signed Armenian International

Premier League giants Manchester United recently completed their third signing of the summer transfer window, since the arrival of Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford. The player added to the Red Devil’s squad was Borussia Dortmund’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The attacker who had looked impressive in the Bundesliga for quite some time now, finally completed his move to England.

The Armenia international will now be part of the Portuguese manager’s attack, as the Manchester based side look to get back to winning titles in the upcoming campaign.

Many other stars have been linked with a move to the Theater of Dreams, though it will be Mourinho’s choice now which players he needs at the club and which stars he can possibly let go of.

One such star who has now been linked with United, is Real Madrid’s £50m-rated superstar James Rodriguez, who has not really been a part of the starting eleven often under new boss Zinedine Zidane.

The Colombian international caught the attention of the footballing world in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and moved to the Bernabeu from former club Monaco, when Carlo Ancelotti was in charge of the club. Since then, he has made a total of 55 La Liga appearances, scoring 20 goals for Los Blancos.

After being termed surplus to the needs in Madrid, the 24 year old Colombian international could now be looking to leave Spain and join the English outfit, though the lack of Champions League football in the upcoming campaign can be a major factor in his decision.

However, the main question that arises at the moment is that, whether or not Mourinho needs the player in his squad. The “Special One” has a lot of attacking options and has now signed a couple of more players to fill in any voids in the front-line from last season.

Further, Juan Mata was expected to leave the club this summer, after his rift with Mourinho since their time at former club Chelsea. Everton were reported to have an interest in the Spaniard’s services, though it remains to be seen, whether he will be moving to Goodison Park or not.

The Blues and Manchester City had also made enquiries for the player’s services, which would give United a run for their money now, as they look to sign him.

Despite the interest from rival clubs, it is clear that Rodriguez is a high quality player who is quite good on the ball and his passing is exceptional as well. He is a good dribbler and his trickery can get on the nerves of the opposition defence.

He can play at the center of the midfield or on the right wing and can play short passes or take long shots, which could help him fit in easily, in case Mata does leave. He has taken some really good free-kicks for Real and his national side in recent times, though his tackling is not the best.

The attacker likes to invite fouls on him and utilize the chances that come in way and is quite focused in the game. If the attacker does move to England and Manchester in particular, he could give most players in the current squad a run for their money, with the ability that he possesses.

This could definitely be one major reason that Mourinho would want him at the club, as soon as possible.
