Dream Manchester City Lineup Including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Manchester City are in no mood to waste any time as Pep Guardiola wants to make sure that he does endure another trophy-less season at the Etihad. Having already secured the services of attacker Bernardo Silva and goalkeeper Ederson, the manager is now looking to further add more quality to his squad and the player who was recently linked with a move to the Etihad is Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Also a target for Liverpool, the Borussia Dortmund man has emerged as a shock transfer target for the Citizens, after reports claimed that Guardiola is ready to open talks with the player’s representatives. Though all such rumours were later squashed, Aubameyang will surely remain in the sights of the manager who will want to take City to the top next season.
They have a pretty dominant attacking lineup with little place for Aubameyang but if Guardiola spends on him, it will make City one of the strongest attacks in Europe. But just how will the manager set up his side? Here is a dream attacking lineup that City can field next season.
The former Barcelona manager loves to use a 4-3-3 system and is expected to stick with it next season. He may yet spend on a CDM but might use Ilkay Gundogan as the first choice alongside Fernandinho if he stays. They duo may get some competition if Pep decides to buy a world class player for this role.
Yaya Toure is not expected to feature heavily in the first team but Spanish star David Silva, who has been a superstar for City all these years, and Belgian star Kevin de Bruyne should complete the three man midfield for the Citizens next season. When both Silva and De Bruyne are available, the new signing Bernardo Silva should start on the right side of the attack and also act as their backup when needed.
Leroy Sane has done a decent job on the wings and so has Raheem Sterling. But the young wingers will be pushed to roles on the bench as Gabriel Jesus is expected to start on the left side of the attack leaving one place free, which is for the striker.
While Sergio Aguero is more than capable of leading the attack for City all season, he might only be confined to a role from the bench with the £55.25m rated Aubameyang acting as the first choice striker next season. This gives Guardiola plenty of options and world class backups for every position in the squad.
