Dyche to make no changes – Predicted 4-4-2 Burnley line-up to face Stoke City

Predicted Burnley Line-up To Face Stoke City In The Premier League

Burnley have had an excellent season and are still pushing to finish 6th in the table by displacing Arsenal. They have a very distinct tactic and commit to it completely, which is why they have had so many positive results this season.

They come up against a Stoke City team who are in big trouble. Stoke need a victory in this game if they are to have any hopes of keeping their heads above the water and will have to go into this game all guns blazing. Will be a very interesting match.

Probable Burnley XI

Manager: Sean Dyche

Formation: 4-4-2

Nick Pope (GK)

Pope has been in fantastic form this season and is really pushing for that No.1 spot in the England squad for the World Cup. Pulls off some tremendous saves and organises his defence well.

Stephen Ward (LB)

The left-back has had a very good season for Burnley. He’s very hard to beat in the air and is strong in a challenge as well.

Kevin Long (CB)

The strong centre-back had a game to forget against Chelsea, scoring that own goal. Will want to put it behind quickly as he has formed an excellent partnership with Tarkowski at the back for most of this season.

James Tarkowski

James Tarkowski (CB)

Has improved so much this season and is rightly in contention for an England call-up. It is no coincidence that Burnley’s bad patch of form coincided with his injury.

Matthew Lowton (RB)

The right-back has brought excellent balance to the Burnley back-four and has really excelled on the right-hand side. He wins tackles, headers and also gets up and down the wing, providing an attacking threat.

Aaron Lennon (RM)

A player with a lot of pace and he quite often makes the right decisions when he gets into those advanced positions as well. Has been an excellent acquisition for Burnley.

Jack Cork

Ashley Westwood (CM)

Always looks solid in the middle of the park. Not the best passer of the ball but makes important tackles to put his team back on the front foot.

Jack Cork (CM)

Cork did not have the best of games against Chelsea. He usually complements Westwood well in the midfield with his good passing game and also adds an extra attacking dimension for the Clarets.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson (LM)

Got an excellent assist in his last game and looks good going forward. He also does his fair share of defensive work.

Ashley Barnes

Ashley Barnes (ST)

Barnes had a good game against Chelsea, although he didn’t know much about his goal. Seems to have the ability to be in the right place at the right time.

Chris Wood (ST)

Wood did not have the best of games against Chelsea and will be glad to put the game behind him. Hopefully for Burnley fans, he will get back to his rich vein of form for the last few games. He has 5 goals in his last 6 games after all.
