Dyche to make no changes – Predicted 4-4-2 Burnley lineup to face Southampton

Predicted Burnley Lineup To Face Southampton In The Premier League

Burnley welcome Southampton to Turf Moor on Saturday as both clubs look forward to an intense clash to seal a much-needed victory. The Clarets continue to be in 7th spot in the Premier League standings but if they fail to win this week, they could go through a significant drop. However, their confidence should remain intact against a relegation-threatened Southampton side at home.

Team News

Sean Dyche has quite a few injury concerns to face. Phil Bardsley, James Tarkowski and Tom Heaton remain doubtful whereas the likes of Steven Defour, Dean Marney, Jonathan Walters and Chris Wood will definitely miss out on this one.

Probable Burnley XI

Manager: Sean Dyche

Formation: 4-4-2

Nick Pope (GK)

With Heaton out for the foreseeable future, Pope will take up his usual role in goal for Burnley.

Matthew Lowton (RB)

Lowton has put in some decent performances for the club and his solidity on the right-hand side will prove to be crucial for the club on Saturday.

Kevin Long (CB)

In Tarkowski’s absence, Long has done an admirable job and the player should be back in this position against Southampton.

Ben Mee (CB)

Mee continues to be a force to reckon with at the heart of the Burnley defence and he is expected to essay his usual role this weekend.

Charlie Taylor (LB)

With Bardsley out, this will be yet another chance for Taylor to impress. He was a bit underwhelming against Swansea but the player will be looking to do better against the Saints and help Burnley seal a much-needed win.

Jeff Hendrick (CM)

Effective at dictating the pace of the play in the midfield, Hendrick will be key at establishing control against Southampton on Saturday.

Jack Cork (CM)

Cork has had a few nervy moments in the recent past but he continues to be an influential figure for the Clarets and Dyche will need him to be at his best.

Berg Gudmundsson (LW)

Gudmundsson has been one of Burnley’s most effective players this season and his direct attacking runs will be crucial to unlocking a stubborn Southampton defence.

Ashley Barnes (ST)

Barnes is expected to play in this role once again, after putting up a decent display against Swansea.

Aaron Lennon (RW)

Lennon usually does quite well in this position and his creativity will certainly prove to be an important factor for Burnley on Saturday.

Sam Vokes (ST)

Vokes is likely to be handed the responsibility of leading the line once more. He is pacey and can exploit spaces to capitalise on and he will be a crucial figure for the Clarets.
