Why Andrej Kramaric could be a smashing signing for Everton
Back in June, The TuttoMercatoWeb (h/t The Liverpool Echo) had claimed that Everton were interested in signing Hoffenheim star Andrej Kramaric. However, a move didn’t materialise and he has since stayed put at the club.
Andrej Kramaric, 28, left Leicester City to join Hoffenheim in 2016 and the forward has since become a favourite at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena. He scored 17 goals in 30 Bundesliga games last season and was named Hoffenheim’s Player of the Year.

After missing the first seven games of this season with a knee injury, the Croatian has scored four goals in five Bundesliga appearances. He’s in red-hot form at the moment and Everton must surely rekindle their interest to sign Kramaric in January.
Interim manager Duncan Ferguson’s spectacular impact on and off the pitch galvanised Everton’s support with the 3-1 win against Chelsea last weekend. The Toffees’ improvement as Ferguson took over from the sacked Marco Silva was surprising, with the Blues finding the character and energy they have lacked all season.
Whether he will get the club’s managerial reigns on a permanent basis remains to be seen but the feel-good factor has certainly returned to Goodison Park.

Everton have lacked a prolific goalscorer in their ranks since Romelu Lukaku left the club in the summer of 2017. Cenk Tosun, signed from Besiktas in January 2018, has failed to live up to the high expectations at Goodison Park, while young gun Moise Kean’s addition from Juventus this past summer is yet to reap rewards.
Richarlison has been a rare shining light in an otherwise disappointing campaign for the Toffees. The Brazilian has been a constant menace for the opposition and is arguably the best Everton player so far this campaign. But Richarlison needs some support up front if he is to continue his good form and help the club.
In that case, someone like Andrej Kramaric would be a smart addition to the Everton ranks. Kramaric struggled to make an impression at Leicester but since leaving England for Germany, he has matured as a player and has become a prolific goalscorer.
Prior to his 22-goal 2018/19 season, the Croat netted 13 and 18 goals in the 2017/18 and 2016/17 Bundesliga campaigns respectively.

A calm and composed finisher in front of goal, Kramaric is an absolute thorn for the opposition defenders in and around the box. The Croatian international’s combination with the likes of Richarlison and Alex Iwobi would be a joy to watch and the trio could help Everton finish this season in a respectable position.
