Everton signing this dribbling wizard from La Liga would add a new dimension to their overall gameplay

Everton opinion: Everton should sign Stanislav Lobotka

According to a report in the Liverpool Echo, Everton have been linked with a move for Celta Vigo’s Stanislav Lobotka.

The Slovakian is one of the most underrated midfielders in the La Liga, as he’s not someone who scores a lot of goals or rack up assists, However, he is a true dictator in the midfield.

He’s a fantastic dribbler and extremely good in tight spaces, often driving from defence to midfield. His small stature allows him to get about the pitch and win fouls but he also has fantastic defensive contributions, which help him adapt to the Premier League.

The Premier League is far more technical than it used to be a couple of seasons back and it shouldn’t be that big a change for Lobotka.

Everton have already got the likes of Andre Gomes, who was a massive success at Goodison Park last season and they’ve also signed Fabian Delph from Manchester City.

Stanislav Lobotka

There will definitely be a massive stylistic shift if this move is going to take place as Everton have already sold midfield destroyer Idrissa Gueye to Paris Saint-Germain.

Everton are clearly looking to move into a more attacking unit under Marco Silva but it was quite clear last season that he didn’t have the tools to do that, having often depended on the individual brilliance of Lucas Digne, Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Having analysed the approach Everton are taking by being linked to Lobotka, it’s clear that they want more control in the midfield, which will allow opportunities for more chances to be created for their forward players. Lobotka’s game shares a resemblance to the way Marco Verratti plays but he’s not as good.

With teams often pressing opponents a lot more in the Premier League with a lot of intensity, someone like Lobotko is a fantastic player to have on your side as he’s extremely press-resistant due to his low centre of gravity.

Everton will be hoping that they can now have some authority in games against the smaller teams and at Goodison Park.

Conclusion

Everton have spent a lot of money and are a historic club in England. They will be hoping that they can break into those Europa League spots or even the top-four with there being an opportunity presented as Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have shown some vulnerabilities last season.

Everton must pounce on this deal, otherwise, Marco Silva might not last the season.
