Fantastic Albrighton – The Best And The Worst Rated Leicester City Players vs Watford

Full Time: Leicester City 3-0 Watford

Leicester City coasted through to a comfortable 3-0 win over Watford FC at the King Power Stadium, on Saturday, in the Premier League.

The home side took the lead in the 38th minute through Wilfred Ndidi’s cracking finish, after Watford failed to deal with a corner. Riyad Mahrez doubled the Foxes’ lead in the 58th minute, with a beautiful finish through Heurelho Gomes’ legs. And Marc Albrighton added the icing on the cake deep into added time to make it three with a low finish.

With the win, Leicester have managed to break into the top 10 of the table and find themselves sitting in the 9th place. Here is how the Leicester players fared on the day:

Leicester City Player Ratings

Kasper Schmeichel – 7/10

Was tested on a few occasions by the Hornets attack but stood strong and kept a well deserved clean sheet.

Danny Simpson – 7/10

The former Newcastle United man had another solid outing at the back, as he defended stoutly, while also getting forward to join the attack.

Yohan Benalouane – 7/10

The 30-year old continues to impress in the absence of skipper Wes Morgan. Another strong showing in the heart of the defence.

Robert Huth – 7/10

Dealt well with the threat of Stefano Okaka, who was proving to be quite a handful, for large parts of the game. Solid and reliable at the back.

Christian Fuchs – 7/10

Supported his team well on the overlap and was assured when in possession. Came close with an excellent free-kick.

Riyad Mahrez – 7/10

Caused plenty of problems down the right-flank with his skills and took his goal brilliantly to send out a reminder of what he is capable of.

Danny Drinkwater – 7/10

Played an important part in the lead up to the opener. As always used the ball smartly and kept Leicester ticking in the middle of the park.

Wilfred Ndidi – 7/10

Found himself in the right place at the right time to open the scoring. The 20-year old continues to impress with another mature display.

Marc Albrighton – 8/10

An excellent display from the 27-year old. Always on the lookout to drive his team forward, never shy to do the defensive work. Capped off a great game with a goal late in the game.

Shinji Okazaki – 6/10

Did not lack for effort in the attacking third, but couldn’t really get a clear chance at goal before being taken off.

Jamie Vardy – 7/10

Had a few chances to add to his tally, but could not take them. Did well to set Albrighton for the third goal.

Substitutes

Islam Slimani – 6/10

Replaced Okazaki just after the hour mark. Had a great chance, but fired over the bar.

Andy King – 6/10

Came on for Drinkwater in the 67th minute. Solid.

Demarai Gray – NA

Replaced Mahrez with less than fifteen minutes left. One good driving run and cross late in the game.
