Celtic 3-0 Ross County: Hoops Secure Easy Home Win

Celtic romped home to a 3-0 win over a ten-man Ross County at the Parkhead in the Scottish Premiership.

The reigning champions were up and running just a little after the halfway mark in the first period, with striker Moussa Dembele netting from the penalty spot to make it 1-0.

Midfielder Stuart Armstrong doubled the Hoops’ lead just three minutes into the second half before Australian international Tom Rogic added another goal at the hour-mark.

The result saw Brendan Rodgers’ side stretch their lead at the top to twelve points.

Celtic Player Ratings

Scott Bain – 7/10

Made a great stop to deny Billy McKay in the first period. Was alert when tested and once again gave a very good account of himself.

Mikael Lustig – 6/10

Returned to the starting XI as a part of a back three. The Swedish defender did not have a great deal to do, with his team dominating the proceedings.

Dedryck Boyata – 5/10

Should have scored from a headed effort in the first half but spurned the opportunity. Passing was shoddy at times. Taken off at half-time.

Kristoffer Ajer – 7/10

The youngster has really grown into the mainstay at the back for the Hoops and it showed once again. Confident with the ball, he strode out on all occasions possible, with little pressure from the visitors.

Scott Brown

James Forrest – 6.5/10

Hasn’t been at his best in recent weeks but put in an improved display on the right flank. Did well to create the second goal.

Scott Brown – 6/10

Came out unscathed off a horrific challenge from Andrew Davies that saw him get sent off. Solid as usual.

Stuart Armstrong – 8/10

Returning to the starting XI after a long time, the Scottish international left his mark on the game with a top-class display. Was involved in everything positive for the Bhoys and capped off a fine performance with a brilliant goal.

Callum McGregor – 6/10

Flitted in and out of the game. There were some nice moments but they came few and far in between. Decent.

Tom Rogic – 7/10

Always a positive influence when on the ball, the Aussie international scored a lovely goal to make it 3-0 in the second period.

Scott Sinclair – 6/10

Another player who was returning to the starting line-up after having spent a lot of time on the bench, the Englishman was way off his best. Did win the penalty leading to the opening goal.

Moussa Dembele

Moussa Dembele – 7/10

Having missed a great chance to open the scoring, the Frenchman made no mistake from the spot in the 25th minute. After a slow start to the season, he is gaining form towards the business end.

Substitutes

Jack Hendry – 6/10

Replaced Boyata at half-time. Didn’t have a lot to do but did what was asked of him.

Patrick Roberts – N/A

Showed glimpses of his abilities.

Leigh Griffiths – N/A

Made his first appearance in over two months.
