Fantastic Hernandez – The Best And The Worst Rated Leeds Players From The 1-0 Win vs Hull City

Final Score: Leeds United 1-0 Hull City

Leeds United made their way back into the top six of the EFL Championship standings when they defeated Hull City 1-0 at the Elland Road on Saturday.

Pablo Hernandez scored the only goal of the game in the 29th minute when Hull keeper Alan McGregor mishit a clearance straight to the Spaniard, who made no mistake in finding the back of the net with a delightful chip to seal all three points for the Whites.

The win sees Thomas Christiansen’s side move to 5th place in the table, with 39 points on board from 23 games. And here’s how the Leeds players fared on the day.

Leeds United Player Ratings

Felix Wiedwald – 8/10

Made two excellent stops to keep Hull out in the first period, that included a save from a scorching Kamil Grosicki half-volley. Distribution too was spot on most of the times.

Luke Ayling – 5/10

Struggled a lot in the first half, with Grosicki having the beating of him on regular occasions. Improved slightly after the break, but still a relatively off night.

Pontus Jansson – 6/10

Another solid display from the giant Swede, if not spectacular. Hardly put a foot wrong and improved with time.

Liam Cooper – 6/10

Endured a difficult start to the game but overcame it and cut out a calm and composed presence in the heart of the defence.

Gaetano Berardi – 7/10

A much-improved performance from the full-back. Was strong and resolute at the back and got forward purposefully.

Ronaldo Vieira – 6/10

Fought very hard in the middle of the park as usual, but his use of possession wasn’t always the most impressive.

Kalvin Phillips – 5/10

Had a hard time in the early exchanges as the Leeds midfield ran ragged. Replaced at half-time by the manager.

Pawel Cibicki – 5/10

Struggled to get into the game and did not offer cover for the struggling Ayling as well.

Pablo Hernandez – 7.5/10

Always calm and composed when on the ball and showed his class with a sublime finish in the 29th minute to seal the game for Leeds.

Gjanni Alioski – 6.5/10

Couldn’t make a telling influence on the game but toiled hard down the left flank. His hold up play too was impressive.

Kemar Roofe – 5/10

Anonymous. The former Oxford United man struggled to get into the game, just like he did against Norwich City.

Substitutes

Eunan O’Kane – 6/10

Replaced Phillips at half-time. Was fairly steady in the midfield.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga – 5/10

On for Roofe in the 77th minute. Had a chance to score.
