Fantasy Premier League – Gameweek 28 Preview

With not too many gameweeks left for the end of the season, the Fantasy Premier League managers must gear up for outperforming their opponents and take a shot at the winner’s trophy. Gameweek 28 also promises some hard fought battles on the pitch providing the managers a chance to boost up their scores.

The highlight of the week is definitely the match between Spurs and Arsenal, revenge being the only thing in mind of the Spurs team which are riding high on the form of Gareth Bale. The other match to look out this week is the match between Swansea and Newcastle. Newcastle’s new recruits are performing quite well and are being able to pull up the team from troubled waters, enhancing the prospect of this match to be a closely contested one. Some of the highlights of gameweek 28 are as follows.

Spurs and Arsenal face off:

It is the London derby this week when Spurs and Arsenal battle it out at the White Hart Lane, with both the teams looking for the Champion’s League spot. Gareth Bale has already alerted the Gunners that revenge is what they seek when the two sides clash. This match has all the possibilities of witnessing a number of goals, which in turn will make the Fantasy Premier League managers chances go up. Gareth Bale has been in peak form throughout and looks set to impress this week too.

It would be a catastrophic mistake for any Fantasy Premier League managers to not include Bale in their team. Santi Cazorla has scored thrice in the last two matches and Arsenal’s chances would much rather depend on the form of Cazorla and Walcott. It should be a tough choice for managers to pick up one players among Cazorla and Walcott, but going by the current form we would much rather suggest Cazorla.

Keep an eye on gameweek 29:

With only six games to be played, gameweek 29 looks to a disaster for many Fantasy Premier League managers. Therefore whatever changes the managers make to their team in this gameweek, should have a direct reflection on gameweek 29. Among the teams who play in gameweek 29 and whom the managers should consider while making transfers are Liverpool, Spurs, QPR, West Brom and Swansea. Keeping this in mind it would be wise for the managers to include Glen Johnson or Jose Enrique from Liverpool and Chris Samba from QPR.

Among the midfielders Bale is invincible at the moment and it should not need an occasion like this to transfer him in the team. He should be in the team anyway. But the one player for whom an occasion like this should be a blessing in disguise is Moussa Sissoko. He has been performing for his team quite well and now that the managers would have limited choice, Sissoko’s name would definitely be on the list of many. Michu and Gerrard also have a strong case and a situation like this would only help to increase their already high ownership.

Among the strikers, the Liverpool duo of Suarez and Sturridge clearly has an edge over others. But the one striker to look forward to in this time is Lukaku. He has been enjoying his time with West Brom and is in no mood to return to his parent club, Chelsea and thus would be quite handy at this time. Rickie Lambert and Benteke are the other two strikers who can be considered in the team for gameweek 29. Thus the transfers made by the Fantasy Premier League managers this gameweek can have a direct impact on their performance for the next gameweek and while making the changes to their team, they should have on their eyes on the fixture in gameweek 29.
