All it took Arsenal was one spell of 20 minutes which pushed them from wannabes to challengers for the Premier League title. The Gunners had demolished Leicester City 5-2 in an earlier game, but their blitz against Manchester United will e the one performance remembered by most.
Arsenal were ruthless against the club from Manchester and it wasn’t just one player who did the damage for the Gunners, normally people expect Sanchez to hog the limelight but this collective effort could be the key for Arsenal if they are to win the Premier League title.
Winning the league is a marathon and not a sprint, so we look at five players from the team who need to play out of their skin if Arsenal are to win the league this season.
Alexis Sanchez
Could we start anywhere else? Sanchez has been the player for the Gunners ever since he signed for them a season ago. The Chilean has been everything that Arsenal need, tenacious, battling, skillful and has an eye for goal as well. We saw just how devastating he can be against United and Leicester and he would have to continue playing like this if Arsenal are to have any chance of winning the league.
Petr Cech
Arsenal needed someone to have a command in between the sticks, we have seen how Ospina and Sczcesny have fared for both Arsenal and Roma this season and Cech, despite a tough start is one of the key players to help the Gunners in their chase for the Championship.
Laurent Koscielny
Arsenal cannot win the title just on the signing of one world class goalkeeper, Cech still needs great performances from his defence in front and that is the job of Laurent Koscielny and company. The French defender is one of the most talented centre backs in the league and him playing to his potential and beyond could just be the ticket that Arsenal need to win the lottery.
Theo Walcott
While the Gunners can’t rely simply on Olivier Giroud for the goals but they need to rely on Walcott who has been shifted as a makeshift striker, the English winger can be the attacking fulcrum that Arsenal need and playing him in either as the striker or winger is important but Walcott playing to his ability is a requirement not only for Arsenal but also for England.
Francis Coquelin
While many would expect the likes of more seasoned veterans in Ramsey and Wilshere to be present here, it is the form and tough tackling ability of the Frenchman which could be crucial to the Gunners winning the title. Coquelin is the one defensive midfielder that Arsenal have and keeping him fit and healthy would be extremely important in their quest to be the best in England.
