Forget Giuseppe Bellusci – Here Are 2 Perfect Replacements For Leeds To Sign

Giuseppe Bellusci

Leeds Can Consider Signing These Players To Replace Bellusci If He Leaves The Club

Unpopular with the fans, Guiseppe Bellusci looks set to permanently part ways with Leeds United this summer following the conclusion of his season-long loan with Empoli.

Bellusci has played 57 games for the club and even scored 2 goals, but it now seems like a distant memory. However, it appears that the fans and most people attached to the club can’t wait to see the back of him for good. For his part, he is 27 now and should capitalise on a solid enough season in Serie A by grabbing a big permanent move while he has the chance.

Here we explore two players who could step into Bellusci’s shoes as a Leeds United centre-back, one who is comfortable on the right and one on the left. Leeds would do well to sign one of these players in case of Bellusci’s departure, or maybe even both of them in the event of any of other defenders leaving the club.

Danny Batth

Having been at Wolves professionally since 2009, Batth’s commitment to a cause is clearly not in question. Following several loan moves to the likes of Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday, he gained valuable experience and now finds himself as captain and first choice centre-back for the West Midlands side.

37 games and 3 goals this season as skipper show that Batth is a proper player now at this level. At 26, he has not quite reached his peak ability in his position and so his best is yet to come.

Bartley and Jansson have been so solid for Leeds this season but may not be around for too long. Should Leeds offer a better chance of promotion to the Premier League than Wolves, surely, an ambitious player like Batth would be open to the possibility of moving and could give Leeds that same defensive solidity which they will need to replicate next season.
