Forget Jack Grealish: Aston Villa could look to replace the midfielder with any of these 3 players including Rangers ace

Aston Villa could be set to lose midfielder Jack Grealish this summer. The 22-year old has emerged as a shock transfer target for a number of Premier League clubs, including the likes of Leicester City and Manchester United.

With Villa’s current financial situation, they could be forced to let go of their most prized asset before the next term. A graduate of the Aston Villa academy, Grealish burst onto the scene back in 2013 under then manager Paul Lambert.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a solid 2017/18 campaign for Steve Bruce’s side as he went on to score three goals and set up eight more in 34 appearances.

As per reports, the Midlands outfit are demanding a transfer fee of £40 million for the England U-21 international. Should Grealish be sold this summer, here are three players that Villa can replace him with next season.

Jarrod Bowen (Hull City)

The 21-year old attacker was one of the best players for Hull City in the previous campaign and he would be a worthy candidate to replace Grealish.

Having graduated from the Hull City academy, Bowen was promoted to the senior team back in 2016. However, he truly blossomed over the course of the last term as he ended the season with 15 goals and 3 assists to his name. There were times when the Tigers struggled in the Championship but that did not stop Bowen from working his magic.

He can play on either flank and is also adept at playing as the No.10. In fact, Bowen has displayed his array of abilities in recent times and he will be a great addition to the Villa squad.

Josh Windass (Rangers)

The 24-year-old Rangers star is another option that would be worth looking at for Aston Villa. Windass has been with the Scottish giants since the summer of 2016, having joined from Accrington Stanley. His debut season was decent enough but he came to life in the 2017/18 campaign.

The Englishman ended the season with amazing numbers, as he scored 18 times and laid on 8 assists for his teammates in 41 appearances across all competitions. A versatile player who can play in a multitude of attacking positions, Windass thrived in the No.10 role in the last campaign and he has the potential to be a solid addition to Steve Bruce’s team.

Bradley Dack (Blackburn Rovers)

As Blackburn secured promotion back to the EFL Championship, Bradley Dack was one of the main protagonists. In case Grealish leaves the club, Dack could be another interesting alternative for Aston Villa.

The 24-year old attacking midfielder enjoyed a stellar campaign in the League One that ended with him netting 18 goals and setting up 9 more for his teammates. Dack is essentially a central attacking midfielder, who can also play out in the wide areas.

From his displays, it is evident that the Englishman has the attributes to be a success in the Championship and he could prove to be a vital addition for Villa in the seasons to come.
