Forget This Long Term Target: Here Are 3 Premier League Strikers Arsenal Should Consider Signing

It is clear that Premier League giants Arsenal are in need of signing more reinforcements in the upcoming days, not just to add more quality their back-line, but to the attack as well. With the Gunners now failing in their attempts to add more players to their current squad, it is up to manager Arsene Wenger to make things right at the Emirates, prior to the start of the new campaign.

The north London outfit have started off well in the pre-season games, though there is still a need to sign an additional striker in the upcoming days, with the French manager looking to win some titles soon.

Keeping that in mind, Wenger looked to sign Alexandre Lacazette this summer, though he has failed in his attempts to do so, thus far.

He has still not given up, though with Ligue 1 giants Lyon demanding such a high price now, as they look to exploit his desperation and it will only be a matter of time before the transfer saga probably fades away.

If that happens, Wenger will have to look for other options and here are three Premier League strikers that the Arsenal boss can look to sign once he is done chasing the Frenchman:

3. Diego Costa: (Chelsea)

It would be a total sign of desperation on the part of the north Londoners if they have to stoop so low and sign Chelsea’s Diego Costa, who looks eager to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, as per claims. The 27-year-old Brazilian-born striker has now minimal interest in staying at the club, since the departure of former boss Jose Mourinho and it was even stated that the player was rather homesick. If he fails to move back to Spain, it could be in the best interest of Wenger’s side to sign the attacker, who is a renowned goal scorer and strengthen their front-line.

2. Christian Benteke: (Liverpool)

The Reds’ star has failed to impress at Anfield and does not seem to be part of Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the upcoming campaign. The Merseyside outfit could be looking to cash in on the Belgian international, though Benteke recently stated that he would be open to a loan deal as well. In case Arsenal fail to sign any big signings, the attacker could be an option on either loan or a cheap buy, though Liverpool will want to get as much money out of the deal as possible.

1. Romelu Lukaku: (Everton)

The Everton frontman is keen for an exit from Goodison Park, with Chelsea eager to sign him as soon as possible. If the player does return to his former club, it will be a huge boost for new boss Antonio Conte. However, if the move does not happen, Wenger could look at him as a potential target, as he looks to further fortify the squad. It will be interesting to see what happens next, as it seems that the Belgian striker does not wish to be part of Ronald Koeman’s plans.
