Manchester United opinion: Should the Red Devils go for Richarlison?
If there is anything that Manchester United need in their squad, it’s a lot of reinforcements across the board. The Red Devils endured a torrid time this season and that needs to change in the near future.
They did appoint Ole Gunnar Solskjaer somewhere in December and the former Manchester United superstar started well.
But things quickly went downhill after his appointment was made permanent. The club finished the season with just two points in their final four games, losing two out of those four and drawing the other two.
It was a struggle to the end and that needs to change in the near future. Not only that, their ageing squad needs to be freshened up, with the core of their squad well past 27-28 years.
The likes of Nemanja Matic, Ashley Young, Antonio Valencia and a few others have all struggled to make an impression.
More than anything, the Red Devils need to make a move for younger players over the next few transfer windows as they look to change their fortunes.
At the moment, both Manchester City and Liverpool are leading the Premier League in nearly everything, with the two fighting an incredible battle.
In the end, that battle finished with just one point separating the two teams, with Manchester United finishing a distant sixth. Both Chelsea and Tottenham took the final two spots in the top-four and it looks like the Red Devils will play Europa League football next season.
While that is a downfall, it provides them with the best possible route back into the Champions League but to win it the Red Devils need reinforcements. More importantly, they need a new forwards in their ranks with Jesse Lingard and Alexis Sanchez failing to do much.
Both the players struggled terribly over the course of the season and it’s one of the many reasons why Manchester United struggled as well. That needs to change and by adding someone like Richarlison, they can do exactly that.
English news outlet Sun, has reported that Manchester United are keen on a move for the young Evertonian who is valued at £100m. While he only arrived last summer, the Brazilian soon became a fan favourite and finished as one of the club’s best players.
Not only that, the 23-year-old finished his season with 13 goals in the Premier League alone, meaning that no Manchester United player scored more goals. Paul Pogba was Manchester United’s top scorer with 13 goals, with Romelu Lukaku a close second with 12.
It showed exactly where the club struggled and why a move for Richarlison makes a lot of sense.
Direct, fast and very intelligent, the Brazilian has shown that he’s not only capable of surviving in the harsh Premier League but more importantly that he’s capable of thriving. It’s a rather rare combination but one that Manchester United desperately need in their side.

Arguably one of the best players to replace Alexis Sanchez, Richarlison has a bright future. The Red Devils need reinforcements before the summer window ends and it has to be sooner rather than later before someone else swoops in for the Everton star.
