FPL Tips Gameweek 8: Arsenal’s Beast or Chelsea’s Magician? Here’s Who You Should Pick For This Weekend

The Cheeky Chilean or The Magical Belgian? – Who Should The FPL Managers Pick For This Weekend

With Gameweek 8 coming close, it is time for Fantasy Premier League managers to decide on their teams. It is indeed quite a challenge to choose the right defenders, midfielders and forwards while also staying within your allotted budget. With the stakes being higher than ever and with no room for errors, it can be quite complicated.

Allow us to make it a bit easier. Undoubtedly, the biggest question on FPL managers’ minds will be as to whether or not to utilise Alexis Sanchez or Eden Hazard. Both players have produced mixed results from their performances, so far. Also, they are both quite expensive, so the decision will have to take into account their price as well. Here is an analysis on which player you should purchase for this week.

Alexis Sanchez – Arsenal

Arsenal play Watford on Saturday, and that should be more reason to choose Sanchez. It might be a bit unexpected given that he’s only just returned to the starting XI but he’s already made a strong case for himself in his last couple of outings for the Gunners.

He’s registered an assist in each of the last two fixtures and delivered a stellar attacking display against Brighton in particular. In fact, he also recorded the most shots on goal in the league during the last round, eight in total, while creating six chances as well.

The Chilean is getting back to his best. As seen last season, Arsenal’s opposition do not really dictate Sanchez’s performance since he does well anyway.

Eden Hazard – Chelsea

Eden Hazard’s numbers do not really speak much for him. Despite an impressive Champions League outing against Atletico Madrid, the Belgian failed to make an impact in the Premier League. In fact, he was almost deemed as invisible on the field by a lot of Chelsea fans during their recent matches in the league.

To be fair, he did make a comeback from injury and Conte repeatedly stressed that the player wasn’t fully ‘match-fit’. However, after multiple weeks of spending time on the field, Hazard should be looking to put up an improved display – especially since Chelsea face Crystal Palace. Roy Hodgson’s men have been at an all-time low so far, and it shouldn’t be too tough for Hazard to do well against them.

Verdict: Alexis Sanchez

In the world of Fantasy Premier League, the mere belief that a player will do better is not enough. Unlike Hazard, Sanchez’s numbers back him to perform better. Thus, if this choice is tormenting you, the logical decision would be to go with the Chilean.
