German Reports Confirm, Liverpool Scouted Two Players Over The Weekend

Matthias Hamann brother of former Liverpool player Didier Hamann was spotted during the match between FC Koln and Schalke, at RheinEnergieStadion on Thursday. German newspaper Bild believes that Hamann was scouting players from FC Koln and had come to watch them.

Bild further reports that, Hamann was there on behalf of Liverpool and was watching out for Jonas Hector, left-back and Timo Horn, the Goalkeeper.

With Simon Mignolet’s poor performance it makes sense as to why Klopp would like a second option for the goalkeeper and is looking out for Timo Horn. Horn has a release clause of €9m and according to the Bild Jurgen Klopp wants the player.

On the other hand, it’s not surprising that Klopp has got scouts watching for Jonas Hector, as Alberto Moreno is the only left back present with the club and so far he has not been able to put up good performances for the Reds.

However, Bild also managed to get a word form FC Koln’s Sporting Director, Jörg Schmadtke, regarding the presence of Hamann in the stands.

Jörg Schmadtke isn’t panicking: “There are no inquiries, offers or anything like that. The visit of Hamann does not make me nervous. He has been seen many times in our stadium.
