‘Get Lamela back in the team ASAP’ Tottenham Fans React To Frustrating Draw vs West Brom+Ratings

Full Time: Tottenham Hotspur 1-1 West Bromwich Albion

The Wembley hoodoo returned for Mauricio Pochettino’s men this weekend as they failed to take more than a point from West Brom’s trip to London. The Baggies scored an early goal, thanks to a mistake in the midfield from Dele Alli but Harry Kane managed to equalise in the second half as both teams shared a point each.

The hosts looked off-colour all game and did not create enough to take all three points.

Here’s how the Tottenham players fared on the day:

Hugo Lloris (5)

Had very little do except that early goal from Rondon, which, in all fairness, he should have done better to stop.

Kieran Trippier (6)

Put in dangerous crosses constantly but failed to provide the perfect one, to help his side break the visitors’ resilience.

Davinson Sanchez (5)

Should have done better to stop Rondon from scoring the opener but was quite comfortable otherwise, against a West Brom side that was happy to sit back and defend deep.

Jan Vertonghen (6)

Had very little to do at the back as he won most of the balls in the air, keeping Rondon away from retaining possession for most of the game.

Ben Davies (6)

Like Trippier, he put in a number of crosses to test West Brom constantly and was hardly tested in his own half.

Eric Dier (6)

Started as a part of the backline but slowly slotted into the midfield and drove into the final third with every opportunity, only to be left frustrated.

Harry Winks (6)

Did well to recycle possession in the middle of the park but needs to do a lot more to help add creativity to Spurs’ midfield.

Heung-Min Son (7)

Smart with his movement in the final third, Son was a constant threat to the Baggies at the back but he, like most Spurs players, failed to create enough chances to find the back of the net.

Christian Eriksen (5)

Lost the ball quite often and did not look like his usual self, putting in a below-par performance in front of his home crowd.

Dele Alli (7)

His error allowed West Brom to open the scoring but his energy and industry in the final third helped Spurs equalise through Kane. Picked up his third assist in 2 games.

Harry Kane (7)

Constantly troubled the backline of the visitors but had to wait until late in the game before he could find the back of the net, on a night where he was left frustrated.

Substitutes:

Mousa Dembele (7)

Added a lot of creativity to the midfield for his side, driving them forward with every opportunity and almost helped them to a victory late in the game.

Fernando Llorente (N/A):

Tried to make a meal of himself in the box but came on too late in the game to win it for his side.
