Why Arsenal Would Win The League Hands Down If They Sign Antoine Griezmann

Arsene Wenger will not be too happy with the start his side have made to the new Premier League season but he will know that he has a strong squad capable of turning things around quickly. The likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez may quit the club but one player who is set to stay a considerable amount of time is French ace Alexandre Lacazette.

The former Lyon striker is one of the most prolific goal scorers in Europe at the moment and was a long-term transfer target for the Gunners before he finally signed for them this summer. He has 4 goals in 7 games this season and has adjusted well to life at the Emirates and he has recently suggested that he would love to have another French teammate at the club, Antoine Griezmann.

The Atletico Madrid hitman is one of the best strikers in the game right now and Lacazette revealed that he would ask Antoine to join him at Arsenal. Retrospectively, odds are now slashed on Griezmann landing at the Emirates and though it is a deal way out of Arsene Wenger’s reach, it is something that can turn things around at the club.

Griezmann has shown insane consistency in La Liga over the last few years and now has 102 goals and 34 assists in 257 La Liga outings to his name. He is the first choice for club and country and is a player who can adapt to most leagues in the world.

Strong with his play and smart with his passing and dribbling, the 26-year old is one of the hardest players to mark and is only going to get better in the years to come. He has already played alongside Lacazette for the French national team and this partnership might take Arsenal back to being Champions.

Lacazette has the ability to play as a lone striker and as a target man, but he is much more effective with a strike partner backing up his every move. And if that partner is someone like Griezmann, who also excels in such a system, it is surely the making of something really interesting.

Both players are natural goal scorers and will fight for supremacy, which can seldom be bad for the club. They complement each other well and have the right skill set to excel together and with a Sanchez or an Ozil playing behind them, Arsenal would be deadly in front of goal.

If Arsenal do manage to land Griezmann, their attack would surely take the world by a storm!
