Go for it Bruce – These 3 Aston Villa players definitely deserve a much-improved contract

The Championship season is nearly at an end and Aston Villa have enjoyed good times. They have successfully put the woes of last year’s campaign behind them and have really pushed on. With a playoff spot under their kitty, they have a real chance of winning and getting back into the Premier League.

Steve Bruce has done well with the team but a couple of players have stood out. Here we look at the three that have been a class above and need to be tied down to the club before others come and prise them away.

Jack Grealish

Grealish has been absolutely superb this year and it looks like is realizing the true extent of his potential. His stats might not read that well with only three goals and five assists in nineteen starts, but these do not portray the incredible effect he has had on the Aston Villa team this season.

He has made a total of 42 key passes this year, which is the most in the Villa team and every time he gets hold of the ball, he looks dangerous. He has three years to run on his contract, which expires in 2020, but it will be important for Villa to offer him improved terms to ward off Premier League interest.

Albert Adomah

Adomah was fantastic in the first half of the season for Villa and he has proven to be a crucial player for the club. He has scored 14 goals from the left side of the midfield and he is a highly influential player. It will be interesting to see if he can make the step up into the Premier League, but his form alone this season has made him eligible to sign a new deal with improved terms.

John Terry

John Terry has been absolutely magnificent for Villa this season. His legs may have slowed down but he has been rock-solid for the Championship outfit. The former Chelsea star will be out of contract this summer but he is the sort of player that Bruce may want to keep around.

His experience at the top level could be incredibly helpful in the dressing room and amongst the younger players in the team. Hence, a one-year extension could be on the cards.
