Go For It Conte – 2 Important Transfers That Chelsea Have To Complete This January

Two Transfers That Conte’s Chelsea Should Complete In January

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea have been inconsistent this season and though they are currently at 4th place in the points table, they are far from defending their league title. The manager spent loads of money in the summer to make the squad stronger but the intensity of fixtures in England has seen Conte’s men struggle early this season.

The January transfer window will give the club a chance to improve their options and Conte is already desperately searching for players who can be effective at the Bridge in the second half of the season. He might also want to let a few players leave in January and here is one player who they should sign and one they should let go at the turn of the year:

IN:

Domenico Berardi (Sassuolo)

A transfer target for Chelsea even in the summer, Berardi is one of the up and coming strikers in Europe, who is destined for glory in the future. Currently playing in the Italian top tier, the 23-year old has been in decent form for Sassuolo and has extensively been linked with a move to Chelsea recently.

He has been at the club for two years now and after a shaky start to the season, he might finally be tempted to make a move to the home of the Champions in January.

Alvaro Morata has been effective in front of goal, and Chelsea have only Michy Batshuayi as the back-up option to lead their attack this season alongside Eden Hazard, Pedro and Willian. Berardi’s versatility will be very useful for the Blues. The 23-year old Italian has already worked with Conte back in their home country and would take no time to settle in. So he looks like Chelsea’s best option to solve an impending problem in the squad, for the second half of the season.

OUT:

Charly Musonda

The Belgian starlet is showing signs of impeccable progress in the last few years and is currently one of the most exciting youngsters on the scene in Europe. He has a goal and an assist in two EFL Cup starts but is finding it hard to break into the senior side at Stamford Bridge for the domestic league.

Antonio Conte has maintained that Musonda remains in his plans but at 21, Musonda needs more exposure at the highest level and it might be best for all parties involved to send him out on loan. Celtic are desperate for his services and would be open to landing him in January and if Conte decides to move for another attacker, it leaves him with no option but to send the youngster out on loan for regular game time.
