Go for it Conte – 3 players Chelsea should target in the summer including £100m Hazard replacement

Antonio Conte Celebrating With Chelsea Players

Go For It Conte! – Three Players Who Chelsea Can Target In The Summer

Defending champions Chelsea have not had the best of campaigns this season so far. Right from the opening day defeat to Burnley, the club have been through several ups and downs. To make matters worse, it is not just their issues on the field that have created trouble. Antonio Conte’s changing dynamics with some of the players have proven to be yet another problem and the hot-headed Italian is expected to quit by the end of the season.

Regardless of what happens on that front, the fact is that the club will be in need of bringing newer recruits to Stamford Bridge. They are currently occupying the 4th place in the table and are quite capable of sealing a Champions League spot as well. However, they will have to do a lot better next season and with that in mind, here are 3 players the club should actively pursue in the summer.

Leon Bailey – Bayer Leverkusen

Bailey is one of the most sought-after players at the moment and for all right reasons. He has been in blistering form for the German club this season, influencing the game like no other, from the left-wing. At just 20 years of age, he has a long way to go and he could fulfil his potential at Stamford Bridge. Furthermore, with reports suggesting that Eden Hazard might leave in the summer, the £100m-rated Bailey could prove to be the ultimate long-term replacement for the pacey attacker.

Alex Sandro – Juventus

Marcos Alonso has been splendid for Chelsea for quite some time now and he continues to be an influential figure for the Blues on the left-hand side. However, they often get stretched for options in that area and if an injury was to befall Alonso, Conte could be in quite a fix. Hence, signing Sandro could be quite beneficial since he is regarded as one of the most talented left-backs. He has done exemplary work for Juve and he could be tempted by a move in the summer.

Arturo Vidal – Bayern Munich

One might argue that Vidal cannot be considered as a long-term option due to his age but can anyone really tell he is 30? He can outpace even the youngest of attackers in the midfield area and boasts of ample experience. The flashy midfielder can also ease N’golo Kante’s burden and act as a solid signing for the club. Conte has preferred playing Tiemoue Bakayoko but the player has been quite inconsistent. So making a move for Vidal does seem like a good idea.
