Go For It Jose: Why Pogba’s Reunion With This World-Class £155million Attacker Will Take The Premier League By Storm

Why Manchester United Should Attempt To Re-unite Paul Pogba And Paulo Dybala

Manchester United, having won the Europa League and League Cup titles last season, are eyeing to reclaim the Premier League glory this term under Jose Mourinho who, despite enjoying a scintillating start to the new campaign, hit a massive setback recently following defeats against minnows Huddersfield Town and reigning English champions Chelsea prior to the international break.

They did bounce back strongly with a win against Newcastle over the weekend but arch-rivals Manchester City have stretched the gap to eight points and the Red Devils, currently second in the league tally, will dive into the transfer market when it reopens in January. Although the possibility of acquiring high-profile stars is quite less in the winter window, the 20-time English champions are reportedly keen on landing top-notch resources in order to stay in the title race alongside the Citizens.

The window is not open yet but the transfer rumour mills are full of gossips about Paul Pogba’s latest Instagram post where he made a cryptic birthday wish to young Argentine forward Paulo Dybala. They played together for Juventus during the 2015-16 season before the Frenchman re-signed for his boyhood side Manchester United in summer 2016.

Dybala, meanwhile, has grown up immensely in the past two seasons since completing a £23million Juventus move from Palermo and the Bianconeri have tied him down to a new long-term contract earlier this year that runs out in summer 2022.

Yet, Mino Raiola, his agent, has not ruled out a move and views United’s profile as a ‘big project’.

In the end, Dybala will leave Juve”.

Raiola stated back in September.

Dybala could reunite with Pogba in the near future with the Old Trafford outfit likely to pursue a move in January. United already have a star-studded squad, but a player of Dybala’s stature will add more value to their attacking third. The £155million-rated Argentine has netted 55 times so far in 111 outings altogether for the Serie A champions and his versatility will provide a much-needed essence in Mourinho’s strategy – that has often been criticized for being mundane and monotonous.

United already have the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford up front. Dybala is capable of featuring as a centre-forward, attacking midfielder and as a wide attacker. His chemistry with Pogba will add more quality as well as flexibility to what the English giants are lacking now.

Pogba has improved significantly this season following an underperforming 2016-17 campaign but is yet to reach his Juventus’ mastery for Manchester United. Lukaku has scored plenty of times already but he has struggled against the ‘Big Six’ of the league. The Belgian offers physicality as well as aerial dominance in front of the goal but his movement inside the box still needs refinement. Pogba has shown glimpses of his class since being shifted to an advanced midfield role this season but his movements up front are lacking end product due to the paucity of inventiveness.

Dybala, as a result, will be a major influence due to his quick movements, ball skills, and finishing traits. Both Pogba and the Argentine will complement each other in the United attack as the latter’s presence will help the Frenchman to march forward, drive from the midfield to work in advanced areas and orchestrate moves in the final third.
