Go For It Mourinho – This £35m Ball-Playing Defender Could Be Perfect For Manchester United

Why Victor Lindelof Would Be Perfect For Manchester United

Manchester United were lucky to qualify for the Champions League but they did perform consistently well to win the Europa League title. However, Jose Mourinho knows that his side needs to improve a lot if they are to compete with the best next season. This has seen Mourinho look to add quality to a number of positions in his side.

The Red Devils have not been able to use a settled backline, thanks to injuries and lack of form. Eric Bailly only joined the club last summer and was their best centre-back. However, his partners Chris Smalling and Phil Jones have just not been able to show consistency to warrant a place in the first team next season.

This has seen United scout a number of star players with a lot of big names being linked with a move with the club. But one player who could turn the Red Devils into a formidable force at the back is Swedish star Victor Lindelof.

Mourinho will need a player who fits into his style well. While there are some decent ball players who can fit in well at United, Lindelof’s attributes make him the perfect player for Mourinho.

Strong and athletic, Lindelof is a workhorse who loves to keep his body on the line for his team. He relies on his ability to read the game, that allows him to be consistent and at just 22, he is only learning the game by the day. He is an excellent passer and can set up attacks from the back but his ability to defend, even in one of one situation, is what will attract Mourinho.

He is aggressive, likes to dominate and can be the perfect partner for Bailly. Lindelof will help the Red Devils stay strong at the back, dominate in the air alongside Bailly, making their defence stronger.

Mourinho has already made United a more organised team and having Lindelof and his exciting attributes will only add another dimension to their backline. He will also cost just around £35m and surely, he is the right man for Mourinho this summer.
