Go for it Pellegrini – A loan move for this Man City starlet could be a win-win for all parties involved

West Ham United appear to have a bright future under former Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini. The Chilean is a welcome change from David Moyes and he is expected to significantly improve the east London club’s performances in the upcoming season.

But to do so, he will need to strengthen his side to a great extent in the ongoing summer transfer window. And if a report from The Sun is to be believed, it looks like the manager is keen to raid his former club to sign one of their most promising youngsters.

That’s right, according to The Sun, Pellegrini is eyeing a loan deal for Manchester City starlet Brahim Diaz. The teenage midfielder is deservedly regarded as one of the top prospects at City and it will be interesting to see if the reigning champions are willing to let him leave on loan.

As far as West Ham are concerned, the move could prove to be beneficial. Manuel Lanzini is currently out with a serious knee injury, which could see him miss a considerable part of the 2018/19 campaign.

His absence will create a massive void in the centre of the park for the Hammers. West Ham struggled for form last season and at one point were even staring at the prospect of relegation. But a resurgence of sorts under Moyes’ guidance helped them stay afloat in the Premier League.

And Lanzini certainly had a huge role to play in that. His creative displays helped the Hammers to score goals in vital matches towards the latter half of the season.

But without the Argentine in the line-up, West Ham might  struggle at the start of the new season. Thus, a move for Diaz does make sense. It would be a good move for the youngster as well. Given the plethora of midfield options at Pep Guardiola’s disposal at Manchester City, it is tough to see Diaz securing a first-team spot anytime soon.

And at a time when players such as Ryan Sessegnon of Fulham are notching up priceless first-team appearances regularly, Diaz must not be left behind.

Thus, a loan move to West Ham would allow him to prove his mettle. Given his talents and skills, the youngster should slot in seamlessly at West Ham. And with an experienced head like Pellegrini to guide him, Diaz might be excited at the prospect of joining the Hammers.

Hence, this deal could be a win-win situation for all parties involved.
