Go for it Pellegrini – This 23-year-old Turkish powerhouse would be an excellent addition for West Ham

West Ham opinion: West Ham should sign Irfan Can Kahveci

After just 9 points from their first 10 games, Manuel Pellegrini was expected to be the first manager to lose his job this season. However, the former Manchester City boss has turned the season around spectacularly.

West Ham will need to push on for those European places, if not now then surely next season. They will need upgrades to their already talented squad with the likes of Felipe Anderson, Marko Arnautovic and Declan Rice. One player who would be exceptional next to Rice is Irfan Can Kahveci.

The 23-year-old plays in the Turkish league for Istanbul Basaksehir and is one of Turkey’s brightest young talents. Kahveci has had a great season so far for the league leaders having scored 4 goals and picked up 5 assists so far.

Naturally an attacking midfielder, Kahveci has been deployed both in central midfield and on the left wing this campaign. The young Turk has the tendency to drift forward even when played like a No. 8 and often finds himself in attacking positions.

A strong, relentless competitor, Kahveci shows exceptional strength on the ball and uses his quick feet to get away from challenges. The 23-year-old has a brilliant eye for a pass and uses his intelligence to attract defenders before making a yard of space for himself and releasing a killer pass.

Kahveci is also an astute passer of the ball and makes long diagonals look incredibly easy. The young Turk is also good with his crosses and is seen driving into wide spaces before pinging a ball into the box.

Kahveci’s defensive skills will suit the Premier League perfectly. His relentless pressure and his hard tackling make it incredibly difficult for the opponent to retain possession and once Kahveci has the ball, his range of passes allow him to change the direction of attack with utmost ease.

The Basaksehir man’s most import trait would be his shooting. He possesses a frighteningly strong left foot and has the ability to take pops at goal from distance. Kahveci’s shots come from very little back lift and often surprises the opposition defence.

Conclusion:

With Mark Noble getting into his 30’s and Jack Wilshere injury woes, Irfan Can Kahveci would be a fantastic addition to West Ham’s midfield. His role would compliment Declan Rice perfectly and the duo thanks to their age, could be blowing bubbles for the best part of the next decade.
