Why Tottenham must revive their interest in Jack Grealish
Tottenham Hotspur failed to make a single signing in the summer despite the need being obvious. One of the biggest targets they failed to land was Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish. The youngster has now penned a new five-year deal at the Villa Park. (Sky Sports)

The Lilywhites are certainly short of firepower in the middle of the park. Eriksen and Alli have failed to live up to their standards this season and Spurs need a creative presence.
This is exactly why Mauricio Pochettino should go back for Grealish in January. Despite signing a new contract, there’s always an outside chance of convincing the player to make the move.
The youngster is the kind of player who Tottenham really need in their squad. Christian Eriksen is currently the only one who plays a similar role to that of Jack Grealish in the squad. Both are players who are capable of picking the right pass and making things happen in the final third.
Dele Alli is also a huge asset in this side, but he is more of a pest-like presence who likes to trouble the defenders. In Grealish, Spurs will have all those qualities in one player. The 23-year-old can dribble, pass and score goals from a number of positions.
He has only picked up 1 assist in 10 Championship appearances this season but there’s no denying his quality. A silky and stylish player on the ball, Grealish has also had a taste of the Premier League. The English midfielder might be the only one who can match Eriksen’s range of passing and ability. The Villa man has averaged a pass success rate of 87.7% in the Championship this season. (Stats Courtesy – Whoscored)

Striker Harry Kane would definitely thrive alongside a midfielder like Grealish. There’s no doubt the Lilywhites need at least one or two signings in January and Pochettino should start his spree by bringing in Jack Grealish. This is the perfect moment to make the step up in his career.
