Go for it Pochettino – Tottenham could truly benefit by signing this £35m flair Brazilian

Lucas Moura To Tottenham – Can Spurs Truly Benefit From Signing The PSG Misfit?

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing out-of-favour Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Lucas Moura this January. There have been some reports suggesting that the club are keen on signing him only temporarily. However, the French giants are adamant about sanctioning a permanent move for Moura. Manchester United have also registered an interest in the player but at this point, it could be anybody’s signing.

Ever since Neymar and Kylian Mbappe joined the club, Moura’s chances have seen a significant reduction and it is understood that he wants to leave PSG to receive more playing time. There is no doubt that Moura is a skilled player with tons of experience and potential.

Given the current set-up at the Wembley Stadium, 25-year-old could work wonders. He is incredibly quick, creative and is a proven goalscorer. However, will the North London side benefit from signing him? Most certainly yes.

Pushing for a loan move seems futile at this point. Players like Moura don’t come around often but when they do, it is important to snap them up. No team can ever have an abundance of versatile attackers and Spurs could benefit greatly if they did pursue the deal. Often touted as the Brazilian dribble king, the fact that Moura is likely to come at a price of £35m should prompt the club towards signing him.

However, Daniel Levy could be reluctant to splash out money to buy a player whose signing could prove to be a massive risk. Even though Moura boasts of world-class abilities, he could never really get things going for himself at PSG. Even before Neymar and Mbappe arrived, Moura often found himself in and out of the team.

In short, he is yet to reach his true potential and while one may argue that he can do so at Tottenham, there is a risk factor attached to the entire deal. That said, when one looks at what Moura is capable of, he does seem like a risk worth investing in. Maybe he needs regular time on the field to unlock his true potential and playing for Spurs could help him achieve that.

Thus, the PSG star can most certainly be an asset for Tottenham and the club should bring the player to Wembley this January. As days progress, the challenges will only intensify and if the Lilywhites are truly looking to add some quality to their side, Moura represents a solid option.
