Good match for Dybala: Why Juventus must go all out to sign this Manchester United superstar

Transfer Rumour

As per Express, Italian giants Juventus have prepared a stellar move to land Anthony Martial this summer. The Frenchman is their top summer target, for whom they will be placing a reported bid of £57.4m. Ever since Jose Mourinho took charge at Old Trafford, Martial hasn’t quite proven to be his go-to winger or a regular starter.

After Alexis Sanchez’s arrival, he has fallen further down the pecking order, which has undoubtedly raised questions over his future at Manchester. His contract currently expires in June 2019, with an option of extension till 2020. But, having started just 16 Premier League matches this term, he could well opt to shift.

More on the player

Martial began his professional career at Lyon, before being shipped to Monaco, where he established himself as a top European prospect. In the second season, he scored nine goals, which attracted Louis Van Gaal’s scouts. Totally, he had scored 15 goals in 70 appearances for the French club. In his very first outing for Manchester United, Martial hit the ground running by scoring a beautiful solo goal against Liverpool. He has now scored 36 goals for the Red Devils, including 11 this season. He also earned the Golden boy award in 2015, for becoming the best U-21 player in Europe. For the national side, he has one goal to his name, having played 17 games.

Anthony Martial

Martial is a gifted player. He can offer pace, drive and energy to any line up in Europe. Unlike other youngsters and players, he has the right technique and craft in both wide and central positions, much like Thierry Henry. He is quite versatile, as he can play on either wing, in behind the number nine or as a centre-forward. He loves testing defenders and has exquisite tricks in his armoury.

Is it a good deal?

Keeping in mind the demand of the present day transfer window in terms of money, to buy a precious talent such as Anthony Martial for less than £60m is an absolute steal. In the past four matches, despite claiming victories, Juventus have experimented and tinkered with the left wingers.

Against Torino, Alex Sandro took the spot whereas, versus Lazio, Kwadwo Asamoah played down the left flank. In the last two matches, Stefano Sturaro and Mario Mandzukic have occupied the left wing area. The arrival of Anthony Martial can provide some much-needed consistency and solidity in that zone. The above-mentioned qualities are more than handy to complement the likes of Dybala, Mandzukic and Gonzalo Higuain and add to the goal scoring threat. If he finds a regular place in the Juventus firing line, the explosive winger can light up the 2018-19 season.
