Guardiola to make 2 changes – Strongest 4-3-3 Manchester City lineup to face Chelsea

Predicted Manchester City Lineup To Face Chelsea In The Premier League

Manchester City host Chelsea on Sunday as they look to tighten their grip on the Premier League title. They need 15 points from the remaining games to clinch the trophy. While they are 18 points better off this season right now than the previous one the Blues are 16 points worse off from their tally.

The Cityzens are unbeaten in their last 26 games, their latest home defeat coming at the hands of Chelsea in 2016. They have won 13 on the trot too, netting at least twice in each of the outings. If Pep Guardiola can beat Antonio Conte, he will only be the second manager to do a league double over the Italian.

Team News

Kyle Walker is doubtful for the clash after he picked up a calf injury, as he hobbled off against Arsenal. Fernandinho is sidelined due to a hamstring issue whereas Raheem Sterling is doubtful. Fabian Delph is suspended and Benjamin Mendy is a long-term absentee.

Probable Manchester City XI

It’s quite unexpected of Pep Guardiola as to which of the centre-backs he will opt for but as seen before, Nicolas Otamendi is a prominent figure at the back. Otherwise, he could shift Danilo to right-back and look to continue with the 4-3-3 wide system. He might pick his main men for this outing and rest them for the match against Basel.

Manager: Pep Guardiola

Formation: 4-3-3

GK: Ederson

One of the best keepers in Europe at the moment, Ederson will guard goal for his side. He will come into this game on the back of some beautiful glove work.

RB: Danilo

Danilo will shift to the right-back position in the absence of Kyle Walker.

CB: Nicolas Otamendi

The consistent and reliable Otamendi will play at centre-back.

Nicolas Otamendi and Aymeric Laporte

CB: Aymeric Laporte

Laporte should replace captain Kompany and play alongside Otamendi. He is an excellent passer with fine defensive abilities.

LB: Oleksandr Zinchenko

Zinchenko will make his way into the left-back spot. He is quick to read passes, decent at defending and adds a lot going forward.

RCM: Kevin De Bruyne

Kevin De Bruyne scored the winner against his former club last time out. He will be hopeful of doing the same this game too. Speaking of his attributes, there’s nothing this boy cannot do on the pitch.

CM: Ilkay Gundogan

Gundogan will keep his place in the heart of midfield. His defensive game has gone up by a notable distance.

LCM: David Silva

The little magician will control the midfield. His performances this season have been second to none, especially when contributing with goals and assists consistently, apart from the chances created.

Bernardo Silva

RW: Bernardo Silva

Bernardo will play at right-wing. He is explosive, loves to cut inside and lay it off for his teammates. No Sterling? No problem.

LW: Leroy Sané

After two stunning displays against the Gunners, Sane is ready to showcase his speed, sharp turning ability, vision and finishing skills against the Blues as well.

ST: Sergio Agüero

Kun Agüero will lead the attack once again. He has 5 goals in his last 4 appearances against the Champions. Quite lethal.
