Guardiola to make no changes – Strongest 4-3-3 Man City XI to face Newcastle United

Predicted Manchester City line-up to face Newcastle United in the Premier League

Manchester City stumbled in their quest to defend the title after newcomers Wolverhampton Wanderers held their nerve to pick up a vital point against the Champions. Pep Guardiola will be aiming to clinch a win against Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle United.

The Magpies could be slightly fatigued after playing in mid-week and this provides Pep with a chance to capitalise.

Team News

Manchester City are still without the services of Kevin De Bruyne as Guardiola missed his presence last weekend. Claudio Bravo and Danilo are also sidelined due to injuries but Pep should still be able to deploy a formidable side against Newcastle United.

Probable Manchester City XI

Manager: Pep Guardiola

Formation: 4-3-3

Ederson (GK)

Ederson was unable to keep a clean sheet against the Wolves but will be aiming to do so against the Magpies.

Kyle Walker (RB)

Walker returned to his favoured right-back role and flourished against Wolves. He should start in the same system once again.

Vincent Kompany (CB)

When fit, there isn’t a better defender in the Premier League than Kompany. He should start this match.

Aymeric Laporte (CB)

Laporte scored a thunderous header for City against Wolves. The centre-back is a true Guardiola defender.

Benjamin Mendy (LB)

Mendy’s deliveries into the box will cause all sorts of problems for the Magpies’ defence.

David Silva (RCM)

Silva is proving to be an unsung hero in this Manchester City squad. He is one of their most influential midfielders.

Fernandinho (CM)

A typical Guardiola player whose relentless running and defensive work make him the perfect player in the midfield.

Ilkay Gundogan (LCM)

Gundogan has been brilliant after coming into the Manchester City side. He is a slick passer of the ball and is technically brilliant.

Bernardo Silva (RW)

Silva is proving to be a fine winger under Pep Guardiola. Though he lacks the pace, the former Monaco man is a class act on the ball.

Sergio Aguero (ST)

Aguero comes up against his favourite opponents this week. The Argentine will be hoping for another hat-trick against the Magpies.

Raheem Sterling (RW)

Sterling tends to pop up in home games and that’s why he will be a huge threat in this match.
