“Gunners gunned down”, “Brendan’s at the wheel”: Some Leicester fans go wild after 3-0 hammering of Arsenal + Match report

Leicester City vs Arsenal report – Leicester City match report

Leicester City smashed 10-man Arsenal 3-0 at the King Power Stadium to lift themselves up to eighth in the table. Youri Tielemans scored the opener and Jamie Vardy netted two later on to heap the misery on the Gunners.

In a first half where the home side dominated the proceedings, Bernd Leno was the visitors’ best player. He made quite a few good saves to keep the score level.

Then, around the 36th minute, a second bookable offence from Ainsley Maitland-Niles left the referee with no choice but to send him off. Since then, it was one-way traffic all the way.

Leicester opened the scoring at the hour mark when Tielemans made a late and unmarked run into the box to get at the end of James Maddison’s cross. The Belgian international then sent his effort past Leno to give his team a deserved lead.

The Arsenal keeper made a fantastic double save in the 74th minute to deny Tielemans and Harvey Barnes.

However, Brendan Rodgers’ men eventually made the scoreline worse for their opponents when Vardy scored in the 86th and the 95th minute.

All in all, it was a dominant performance from Leicester against Arsenal. They are now eighth in the table, three points behind seventh-placed Wolves. The race to finish the best of the rest is going down to the wire.

Here’s how their fans reacted after this memorable victory:
