Hart 8/10, Gudmundsson 8/10 – Here’s how the Burnley stars fared in the 2-1 win vs Cardiff City

Burnley Player Ratings vs Cardiff City: Here’s how the Clarets fared

Burnley continued their recent surge in form by picking up another victory against Cardiff City. The Clarets triumphed 2-1 on the night and now move to 12th place on the table. Johann Berg Gudmundsson opened the scoring for Sean Dyche’s men before Joshy Murphy struck back in just 9 minutes.

Thanks to striker Sam Vokes, as he slotted it into the net to hand Burnley all three points. Sean Dyche will be relieved and glad to see a strong response from his side after failing to make it to the Europa League group stage.

Burnley Player Ratings

Joe Hart (8/10)

Despite conceding a goal, Hart was excellent in goal and made a number of fine saves to ensure three points.

Matthew Lowton (7/10)

A good performance from Lowton but he did give away a couple of clumsy fouls and picked up a yellow in the process.

James Tarkowski (6/10)

Was unfortunate to succumb to an injury. Tarkowski made a good start to the game but was taken off for Kevin Long.

Ben Mee (7/10)

It was a no-nonsense performance from Ben Mee who once again proved his worth in this side.

Charlie Taylor (6/10)

Taylor was defensively impressive but was unable to offer much going forward.

Berg Gudmundsson (8/10)

The Iceland international capped off another superb performance with a goal and an assist. He is proving to be a brilliant asset to this Burnley side.

Jack Cork (6/10)

Cork was impressive with his distribution but failed to offer defensive cover on a number of occasions.

Ashley Westwood (7/10)

A dominant performance from Westwood who was everywhere on the field. He also picked up an assist on the night.

Aaron Lennon (5/10)

Not the best performance from the veteran winger. Lennon was often predictable and didn’t offer much going forward.

Matej Vydra (5/10)

Burnley’s new signing was largely ineffective throughout the game. He failed to threaten the backline.

Chris Wood

Sam Vokes (7/10)

Vokes had his good and bad moments in the game, but he ultimately scored the winning goal.

Substitutes

Kevin Long (7/10)

Long deputised well in the absence of James Tarkowski. He has definitely assured his manager that he is capable of offering cover.
